Ceramic braces

Ceramic braces are a great cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces.

They are a similar size and shape to metal braces but the brackets are tooth coloured or clear so that they blend in with the natural colour of your teeth.

Many patients prefer ceramic braces to metal braces as they are much less noticeable however they do cost more and are only available on a private basis.

At Southport Orthodontics in Southport we use Radiance clear ceramic braces as they are exceptionally clear and durable.

Radiance braces are made of sapphire which is extremely hard-wearing. Each bracket is made from a clear sapphire crystal which is heat treated and polished to make it smooth to the touch and comfortable in the mouth, as well as stain resistant.

Our specialist orthodontist William Lee is skilled and experienced in the fitting, adjusting and the removal of Radiance braces.

Ceramic braces may be an option for you if the irregularities of your teeth mean that you are not a suitable candidate for Invisalign but would like a cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces.

Radiance braces are designed to help correct nearly every type of case and are available in many options designed to address your specific aesthetic concerns.

Radiance braces usually need adjusting every six weeks and treatment will last between six to eighteen months, depending on your individual case.
